How to Install a Bifold Door

When it comes to closet doors, the most popular type remains sliding doors, as everyone from children to seniors can easily open them. Over recent years, however, bifold doors have become more popular as a closet door option, thanks to being easy to install and style choices. If you’re getting ready to install a bifold door, remember:

Paint before you mount
Before you start, paint or stain the door. It’s difficult to get a closet door to look the way you want when it’s on the hinges.

Remember unique positions
All bi fold doors are not created equal. If using a kit, then the hardware will need to be positioned in a distinct position. Pay careful attention to diagrams that illustrate where to place what.

Don’t tighten the track hardware
By not tightening the hardware onto the track, you’ll be able to easier hang the doors.
